Anthony Blunt, was a British art historian, MI5 intelligence officer and Soviet spy, the third cousin of the Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the Queen Mother. He worked as the royal family's chief art curator, including Queen Elizabeth II, from 1945 until his retirement in 1972. Blunt's mother Hilda was a 2nd cousin of the Earl of Strathmore, Elizabeth's father. He was knighted by the Queen in 1956. And a friend of Lord Victor Rothschild.
As well as Elm guest house, Blunt was associated with Dolphin Square in London. The location is known for its historical connections to high-profile individuals, including those involved in political and intelligence circles. Blunt was known to frequent places frequented by influential figures, and Dolphin Square, being home to many politicians and intelligence agency personnel, fits this context. It’s worth noting that Dolphin Square has a history of hosting VIPs and has been linked to investigations into child abuse networks involving high-profile individuals.
The proximity of Dolphin Square to the Palace of Westminster and the headquarters of the intelligence agencies MI5 (Thames House) and MI6 (Vauxhall Cross) has attracted many politicians, peers, civil servants and intelligence agency personnel as residents.
Peter Hayman, a disgraced diplomat and member of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE), was linked to Dolphin Square.
